Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person shooter set in Games Workshop's classic sci-fi fantasy world.

The Space Marines of the title are immense warriors, and in this game they are on a mission to stop an Orc invasion of an Imperial Forge World - essentially a planet-size weapons factory. The game is full of excellent close and ranged battles against the Orc armies, as you can find out yourself by downloading the demo.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a gory and violent game, and while it's not particularly subtle, the Gears of War-style gameplay is great fun. The well established Warhammer 40,000 world means the plot is comfortably filled and convincing. The multiplayer features both cooperative and competitive modes, with extensive character customization, meaning fans of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be able to create just the marine they want.

Intense and bloody, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is not for the faint-hearted. It's a great action game that does the source materiel proud.
